Book recommendations from my personal library

You know, for after you finish reading all of my books, of course.

  • The Bear and the Nightingale

The first book in the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden. This book is always at the top of my recommendations when people ask me for something new to read! If you like Russian folk tales, supernatural romance, and a kick ass protagonist, then this is for you!

  • The Strings of Murder

First book in the Frey and McGray series by Oscar de Murial. This series is a go-to for Sherlock Holmes style recommendations. Frey and McGray are the perfect duo, and the constant battle between logic and superstition makes for a guessing game all the way through to the last page.

  • The Hunger

The Hunger by Alma Katsu is one of my favourite fictional retellings of the Donner Party tragedy. Creepy and atmospheric, with just a hint of supernatural, this book always manages to find its way onto my list of top horror recommendations.

  • The Wrath and the Dawn

This one is a newer favourite, but I can’t help loving it. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh is a fun, fast paced romance and I can’t recommend it enough. This book is the first in a duology, so be sure to pick up both at the same time. If you’re anything like me, you’ll absolutely devour them.

  • The Whisper Man

This is the first novel by Alex North that I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and it certainly won’t be the last. I loved every minute of this book. The suspense was lovely, and it clearly stands out as one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a while. Strongly recommend!

  • The Star-Touched Queen

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that was as impossible to put down as this one. Roshani Chokshi’s world is magical and romantic, descriptive and atmospheric, and all around beautiful to experience. If you’re looking for a fantasy romance, I can’t recommend this book enough.
